Duomo, Sant Ambrigio, Castello, Torre Velasca and The Pirelli tower are five most important buildings of Milan. Above all those, the pavilion of Expo 2015 is meant to be the sixth memorial of modern Milan, being representative of contemporary architecture; a stone that flies over the extension of one of the few remaining crop areas inside the city of Milan.
The stone has risen up from the ground generating a spatial experience under itself; a space just in front of  the main axis of the Expo, separated from adversities presented by the highway behind it.
The stone has risen up to be seen and perceived as a landmark by those who pass fast through the high way.
The stone has risen up to house temporary part under its refuge manipulating the permanent project as least as possible (temporary parts will be removed after the expo)
In this under space, all temporary functions happen and at the interior of the flying volume a main space of light is opened to the sky where staircases and terraces take you to the permanent office spaces.  A complex structural thought had been developed to support the flying volume, based on the simple principle of bridge and columns; on the other hand, the building physics thought achieves best records for comfort during summer and winter, with passive energy as the main resource and very low energy consumption.  Special emphasis has been given to natural lighting, which comes from the main circulation space and from the delicate interventions of skylights inside the office spaces.  After the EXPO period, the temporary parts will be removed and the bottom of the stone is meant to be a public piazza which could house daily communities and activities as well as important events.

Theme of the project:
re-designing the Leonardo Campus of the Polytechnic of Milan in optical Sustainable Campus.

Architectural Design Studio of the Master of Science in Architecture with the theme of re-designing the Leonardo Campus of the Polytechnic of Milan by the more general strategy of the Sustainable Campus, at different scales of intervention, with

particular attention to environmental issues and energy and use of open spaces. In particular, the research focused on the themes of relational spaces for students and new additions to the urban context.

Although Politecnico  campus is located in the urban fabric of Milan (North-East) it is not using by public currently.

University campus should not be considered as a  monofunctional  place of educating but a meeting space where communications occur.

Politenico di Milano has a god opportunity from the point of accessibility.
The main goal of the project is trying to revive the campus atmosphere to be used publicly as a part of the city of Milan.
Politecnico campus could be interpreted as fragmented pieces which work separately in adjacent of each othe. Open and close spaced spaces are concretely detached from each other. The campus has been divided to about 6 pieces by different barriers including allies, parking, hospital ,…
Walking through the campus the livability of spaces reduces dramatically. Activities mostly occur in the part of politecnico close to the piazza Leonardo.
In the project it has been tried to not only connect different parts of the campus but also revive potential points using activators which contribute in creating a new layer of urban life.
Fluidity of movement in the contrary of segmental strategy of existing buildings is the main concern of the liquid city project.

as the university should not be  considered as an isolated function exclusively consuming by students, the main concept is to create shared public spaces strengthening the connectivity between university and city while it has to also reinforced the internal connectivity between the existing politecnico departments. More over it has to provide required spaces which do not exist at this time.

Re-qualifying the open space between Trifolio and Nave by creating a public piazza and designing the main entrance of the complex.
the complex has three main public entrance providing the external public accesses while having internal accesses from inside of the existing buildings.

The main concepts of the project are:
-Creating  social diverse mix of city/campus activity.
-Strengthening the permeability by removing  physical or visual barriers
-Involving the city consumers in to the campus
-Creating nodes or collective spaces with specific potential function as an activators ---persuading citizens in order to enter to the complex.
-Spatial/temporal continuity of Nodes in order to generate flow
-humanization of public space

the site is located in north-west of Cremona in the periphery with a poor neighborhood. there is no specifically designed public space in the neighborhood and the high way closed to the site has made a big barrier between residential block and the commercial center which is located on the other side of the highway.
the services are highly spread in the region just in the contrary with the historical city center itself which has created a cozy neighborhood with its main piazza del comune.

The first idea  is to create diffident spaces of private, semi private and public spaces which have interlaced in each other while having their own separate spaces. The  piazza in this project is not just a defined square but is spread through all elements of the project. The concept is an open space (piazza) in which elements of architecture(buildings) are grown up.

The Bazaar is the social community that contribute in livability of the space. it functions in both commercial and social aspect ; a designed pathway during the days and nights. In the concept the piazza was supposed as float water on the ground which penetrate through any empty space  whilst the building are the floating stones in the water.

designing the master plan of the en
trance of ParcoSud (south-west of Milan),connecting  the two separated part, both side of the railway infrastructure.

The area, stretching from the Darsena to the borders of the municipality, enclosed between Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese, right where the city dissolves, is a mesh up of typologies characterized by diversity, juxtapositions lacking coherence, dissonance, which redefined the once agricultural territory.
In this edge zone, where city and landscape meet, two kinds of very different structure can be found:
a rough and poor structure, which defines the recent built fabric, often consisting of simple geometries, mono functional blocks lacking consistency with the territory on which they sit;
a fine structure, that of the agricultural landscape, a dense net of paths and borders marked by artificial canals and natural springs.
where these two structure interlace, they give shape to an unstable and dissonant landscape.

STRATEGIES FOR MASTER PLAN

Having in mind the different levels of analysis, the model literally provides us with a physical recognition of the focal points of the redesign strategy:
1. Improving the public realm by clearly articulating open public space and their continuity.
2. Establishing a new clearly emphasized entrance to the Parco Sud, stressing its importance on both local and metropolitan scale.
3. Re-interpreting and re-introducing the importance of the historical buildings and their surroundings.
4. Implementing the historical grid of the land cultivation into the design of the area, taking into account future plans for the development of the area.
5. Integration of the new and existing infrastructure.

designing city Theater

To briefly explain ideas and concepts of the project, I would better consider several preliminary definitions. Theater is the manifestation of art which represents stories in the presence of spectators and viewers. The word “Theater” comes from a Greek term “theatron” which literarily means an object that is watched. In Persian theater is also called as performance. In performing a genre of a drama, a combination of music, ballet, dance, motivation and light are all in cooperation; in another word theater is a comprehensive art.  Opera, ballet, kabuki, pantomime and puppetry are some other types of theater.

But, a characteristic which has made a theater unique is the mutual relationship between the observer and what is happening in the show. Theater is a drama event that is performed by players in front of a group of art-lovers but the theater is not just a place to do a performance instead, it is a social gathering space in which people are assembled on the purpose of exchanging cultural thoughts.
Theater, ignoring preliminary forms, is a phenomenon which goes back to city culture, the more democracy occupies a society, the better theater and generally arts have been progressed.

Architectural Design III  B.S
(2008-2009)

didactic assosiation, desiging high school

The subject of the project was designing a high school in a part of a land (6000m2) which was exposed to streets from 2 sides and in front of a local park. The building had to include different departments of studying, music, recreation,… .
The main entrance of the complex is from south where the park is placed. And tall plants and bushes have covered all around the yard for insulation.
Considering functional aspect is my first priority in this project; in line with this idea, the plan is divided to six parts:
1. Administration 2.instruction(classrooms) 3. sport 4.music and amphitheater 5.library and the internet site
6. Central core

The main concept is to create different departments which work separately while they are related to each other both physically and visually.

The stairs of the higher levels go round the void to perform students’ activities and make the space vital and dynamic.

Classrooms of the complex are placed in south direction where they are exposed to appropriate sunlight and the best view. In -0.5 floor plan, this part includes different laboratories of physics, chemistry, biology and language, hygiene room and w.c.Administrative department is located in a direction which has a good view to the yard (in order to have control). This part includes council rooms, offices, administration, archive, repose room, pantry and w.c. It has two entrances; the first is from the lobby and the second is next to the teachers parking.

The first and second floor above the labs, are allocated to theory classes while a library and the internet site are placed on the left side of the lobby in second floor. This part (library and the internet site) is between two departments of theory classes and music. Music department is also separately accessible from the central lobby.

Workshops and gallery is along the laboratories and on the left side of the lobby.

All departments are placed around a transparent lobby in various levels and are in a direct relationship with the lobby and indirect relation with each other.

The central lobby has created a void in higher stories and made all departments have visual connection with each other.

The concept is to create different departments which work separately while they are related to each other both physically and visually.

The stairs of the higher levels go around the void to perform students' activities and make the space felt more vital and dynamic.

The amphitheater and the gymnasium go underneath the ground in order to be more isolated  and at the same time compatible with the whole complex.
